Walk on Tuesday April 3

We have a walk next Tuesday starting at 2pm from the Chapelle du Mur near Cleden-Poher. This is a very pleasant easy walk (Medium, Level 1/2) on well-made tracks with great views in all directions. Please note that dogs must be on leads near stock. The chapel is well-signed in RED, once off the N164.
Directions: N164, exit Botaval (Cleden-Poher). If coming from the Carhaix direction (east), the chapel is signed first right off the mini-roundabout at the top of the sliproad. If coming from the Chateauneuf direction (west), turn left at top of sliproad and cross bridge to reach same point. Continue ahead c400m and turn left (chapel signed in red). Go straight on for about 1km and chapel is on your right up a track.

Monts d'Arrée

Why not walk from Roch Trévézel right along the crests of the Monts d'Arrée? Looking good under sunny skies, but pretty atmospheric at any time of year and maybe the best views in Brittany.

Moor and more

We had a good moorland walk today, with lots of clear long views to the Monts d'Arrée crests and the Montagnes Noires to the south. It was a pleasure to get out in such perfect walking weather and appreciate the many signs of spring around us. Thanks to all, and congratulations to dog of the day - Fleur.

Monts d'Arrée walk - Tuesday 20th March

We have a walk (Level 2, Medium) next Tuesday, starting at 2pm from the parking by the church in Loqueffret (D14, west of Huelgoat). The routes covers tracks, a rough moorland path and quiet roads. After bad weather one short section in a stream valley will be very wet and muddy, so waterproof footwear needed. Good Monts d'Arrée views - this is a new walk, on the southern edge of the hills.

Linear walking

There's a new article on our website front page (link opposite - Brittany Walks) about linear walking and the logistics of organising it. If anyone has any recommendations from their own experience of successful use of public transport in this way, or enjoyable 'out and back' routes, please let us know. It would be good to publish a list of possibilities apart from those already mentioned. Many thanks.

Thank you all

We had a great walk today - not only lovely weather, lovely people and lovely cakes, but we raised €175 for Cancer Support France. Thanks to everyone! Dog of the day MEGAN - a model of obedience. Honestly.

Chateauneuf charity walk

We have a walk next Tuesday (March 6th) at Chateauneuf-du-Faou, starting at 2pm. This is an easy walk of under 6kms around the Nantes-Brest canal, with one lock-crossing and some potentially muddy/wet spots, so proper footwear needed. Well-behaved dogs welcome but they must be kept on leads during road walking. It will be possible for those who want to offer support but cannot walk so far to do a short, level, out and back stroll at the beginning of our route. Refreshments will be offered after the walk.
Meeting point is in the parking area near the pizzeria La Chaland on the waterside (see picture above). Take the D36 from the town centre down to the river but turn left immediately BEFORE the bridge and continue ahead to the parking. All monies from this walk will be given to the charity Cancer Support France. Usual entry fee of 4 euros per person, but any donations above that welcome in this very good cause.
